The Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, proudly hosted the 3rd edition of TEDxDepartment of Commerce on 14th February 2025 at the PMML Auditorium, New Delhi. The independently organized TEDx event by the 'Team Convention' brought together an extraordinary confluence of ideas, experiences, and creative expressions, uniting visionaries from diverse walks of life under one theme, “Metamorphic Odyssey.”
The theme symbolized the journey of transformation, the courage to evolve, the resilience to adapt, and the curiosity to discover. It celebrated the essence of human growth, where every challenge becomes a catalyst for reinvention and every story an odyssey of change.
The event featured an inspiring lineup of speakers, performers, and thought leaders who illuminated the stage with their journeys, insights, and artistry. Among the distinguished speakers were Rubika Liyaquat, an eminent journalist known for her fearless reporting and powerful storytelling; Anjum Moudgil, an Olympian and celebrated sport shooter whose journey embodies focus, discipline, and creative passion; and Sadhika Sehgal, a media professional and storyteller who transitioned from corporate life to carving her own space in digital media and podcasting.
Alongside these renowned figures, several other distinguished speakers from fields such as entrepreneurship, social innovation, education, and technology shared their experiences and perspectives, enriching the audience with a tapestry of ideas that inspired dialogue and reflection.
Complementing the talks were captivating performances that celebrated art in its purest form. From classical dance to contemporary music and spoken word, each act reflected the theme — the power of self-expression and transformation through creativity. Performers such as Vaishnavi PJ and Nivedita Sen enthralled the audience with graceful Indian classical dance recitals that beautifully merged tradition with emotion, while other talented artists added rhythm, movement, and color to the stage, creating an atmosphere of awe and connection.
The event was attended by an enthusiastic audience comprising students, faculty members, professionals, and changemakers, all united by a shared curiosity for learning and innovation. The spirit of TEDx, to “spread ideas worth sharing” resonated throughout the day, fostering meaningful conversations, thought-provoking exchanges, and a sense of purpose.
