TEAM CONVENTION
About Us
With a legacy spanning over 25 years at the Department of Commerce, it is one of the oldest committees of MBA (HRD/IB), has at its core the principle of ‘learning by doing’, it organizes the Annual Business Convention of the MBA Program on a grand scale every year. Team Convention also plans to broaden its horizons by organizing the inaugural TEDxDepartmentOfCommerce for the academic year 2020-21. Such an event shall feature a lineup of speakers who belong to various walks of life and come with inspiring career stories of delivering talks that move us for the better.
Team Convention in collaboration with the office-bearers, host a formal farewell “valedictory” at the end of the academic year, for the graduating seniors wishing them best regards on behalf of the department, faculty, and the junior batch.
The committee’s vision remains to facilitate the journey of students to the world of revolutionary ideas, provide a platform shared by experienced professionals, knowledgeable scholars, and future HR leaders, and create an outstanding opportunity for the branding of the department and the learning of its students.
With the philosophy of ‘learning by doing in’ in mind, the team undertakes planning for the events it organizes; enlisting, shortlisting, and interacting with corporate leaders to form networks and decide upon topics that will lead to their and the batch’s development. For various events organized by the team, the team also has to plan and execute the marketing of the events, and ultimately the marketing of the MBA course and the department. The team also takes pride in being one of the torchbearers for familiarising the legacy of the department in the corporate world.

Erudition
Erudition - The Annual Business Convention of the MBA Course at the department provides a common platform to educationists, industrialists, entrepreneurs, financial gurus, and students to share practical knowledge and put their insights on current on-goings in business globally. The future of the country, the capacity and capability of her people, and hence their international competitiveness, hinges on its educational foundation; the Annual Convention seeks to strengthen this very foundation by exposing students to industry leaders and their ways of thought.
As is the literal meaning of the term ‘Erudite’ which stands for the attainment of learning, Erudition at its helm offers its participants an opportunity to come together and cherish learning.
Till now, the course has hosted 24 successful conventions.
It is a 2-day event centered on a different theme every year with one day devoted to IB and another to HR.
Each day witness 3-panel discussions wherein the panel of esteemed speakers discussion on the chosen subtopic. The first day also witnesses an inaugural session with the address from the Head of the Department, Course-Coordinators, and the esteemed Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.

Erudition‘22 :
An inflection point that reflects a turning point or a significant change in a situation is an inedible marker in history whether at global, national, regional, organisational, religious, or personal levels. The Covid-19 pandemic was a significant inflection point in our world, in our nation, and for many in their personal lives and families. The pandemic affected not just individuals or families, but our communities, states, and countries across the world. It highlighted major inflection points for people across the organisation, such as working from home and embracing digitalisation at the workplace, which in a real sense reflects the need of the hour, that is to embrace such change, imbibe it within ourselves, and integrate it into the company culture for achieving greater efficiency.
Erudition' 22 with its theme "The Inflection Point: Embracing the Change and Fostering Transformation would cast the spotlight upon those reformers who embraced the changes and integrated those within the system and thus led to the path of transformation for generating improved results for the organisations. We seek to enlighten the participants about how embracing any change, can lead to the path of positive outcomes resulting out of it and towards a better tomorrow.

TED is a non-profit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.

TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. These events are organized by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organized independently under a free license granted by TED.
TEDx Department Of Commerce is the inaugural TEDx organized by the oldest committee of the MBA Programs at the department, Team Convention. To be held on the 18th of February, 2023, this TEDx shall feature a line-up of speakers who belong to various walks of life and come with inspiring career stories to deliver talks that move us for the better.
With the mission of spreading ideas, we welcome people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives, and, ultimately, the world.
Valedictory Ceremony
It is the official farewell event for the outgoing batch organised by Team Convention in collaboration with Office Bearers.
The ceremony starts with an address from the Head of the department followed by wishes from course coordinators and faculty for the outgoing batches.
Based on the performance of students throughout their journey students are awarded three major awards:

In the end, goodies and yearbook framed by team convention along with best wishes are given to the outgoing batch, hoping that the presence of such would help during nostalgic and reminisce of the important part of their lives.
